Tour of Mont Blanc – Day 7

Day 7

Refuge Bonatti – La Fouly

We left refuge Bonatti behind and started with a two and a half hour descent. The weather was sunny, but a really strong and cold wind blew. At the end of the valley we reached refuge Elena which was already closed.

After a quick lunch we started a two hour ascent to Switzerland’s border – Col Ferret. Walking against the wind wasn’t that pleasant and when we reached the top it blew so hard that we were freezing for hours after that. The scenery was worth it though.

The walk after that was much more pleasant since there were lots of berries and no wind. In the end we took a bus for the last two kilometers to La Fouly. We stayed at the camping which was really nice. It had a common room where we spent our time till bed. Two guys from England joined us and we had a really nice time chatting and drinking a few beers.
